When AWS has not introduced, then you have to required to post an application, you have to initial required various server, It's server is not very cheap things/equipment, it is so costly. If you have money you can but this, but after buy this your problem is not solve, your problem is just begin. Sometimes you have recieved many traffic and clients request, you server is not handle for this type situation, your server may be down that time you have to arrange maintainance cost and recall maintainance team to develop/restore your server. You have to solve secuirty issues.

It means you have to required only 3-4 server, you have to buy/pay rent amd use for this required server. If you want to modified your work you have to add up instance/server. Then you have realize this time you don't required additional server you reduce it easily. As per requirement you can be reduced or increased.
